The last two books suggested for our book club are below. Everything sounds good!
Lana said, "Maisie Dobbs is a suggestion for detective story. I really had fun reading this book.
Setting: Post World War I England
Maisie hangs her shingle as a Private Investigator in 1929
"She is a perceptive observer of human nature. She is great in understanding the motivation and demons prevalent in post-war England.
The impact of the war is vividly conveyed in the book"
"Maisie is a welcome and unusual addition to the crowded world of literary detectives. A readable who dunnit."

And Vicki and Cheryl want us to read Remembering Isaac by Ben Behunin. Behunin is a local writer and potter, and we would like to have him come and talk to our book group. The book is the first in a series of the fictional town of Niederbipp. Jake, a soon to be college graduate stumbles upon an ad in an art magazine. The town of Niederbipp is looking for a new potter to replace, Isaac, the seventh potter in a long string of potters reaching back to 1717. For the past 8 years, Jake has dreamed of being a village potter. He applies for the job and to his surprise, is awarded the Pottery, an apartment and a vast collection of old pots. As Jake begins his work in the old studio, he becomes aware of a unique collection of mugs hanging from an overhead beam. These mugs hold the keys to unlocking Jake's understanding of the man he has come to replace. With the help of his new friend Amy, Jake begins to piece together the secrets of life Isaac lived by and shared with all who knew him.
