Last Sunday, I challenged everyone in Relief Society to stretch beyond their comfort zone and learn something new. This blog is my "something new!" I want to share what we're doing on the literary front and be able to reach all the sisters--not just those who are able to attend Relief Society on Sunday.
Last night we had our book club at Tamra's house. Lana reviewed Alice's Tulips by Sandra Dallas and did a wonderful job. Lana brought some sample quilt blocks that were referred to in the book as well as her millennium quilt (2000 different pieces!), and Barbara brought three antique quilts to share with us. It was a wonderful evening, capped off with yummy treats from Barbara and Bonnie, and we appreciate the ability we have to get together and share our thoughts on books. If you didn't have a chance to read the book, it's worth your time to pick up a copy at the library and dive in.
Speaking of sharing, we're starting to compile the list of books to vote on at our book club meeting in May. Please email your recommendations to me (KLHLarson@comcast.net) by the 31st of March so I can put the list together. Include the author, title and a brief summary of the book.
